During the production of recombinant proteins, cell culture fluid clarification has traditionally targeted the removal of large, insoluble species such as host cells and their associated debris. Conventional bead-based chromatography rapidly fouls when implemented in this stage. In contrast, recently commercialized functionalized nonwoven technologies have demonstrated robust impurity removal during cell culture fluid clarification. This webinar details the key attributes of a functionalized nonwoven technology and its application to biopharmaceutical purification. Case studies comparing clarification using a nonwoven functionalized with a quaternary amine and traditional depth filtration are also explored to demonstrate the benefits of adopting chromatographic clarification.
